The Indiana State Literacy Association (ISLA) seeks to fund projects designed to support individual council’s or member’s efforts to advance literacy in Indiana. The projects may involve local family/community engagement activities, school improvement efforts, or classroom research (including action research). Examples include but are not limited to the enactment of teacher book clubs, implementation of project-based learning in the classroom, examination of the effects of initiating dialogic classroom text discussions on students’ literacy learning, and creation of literacy-focused dramatic play centers/units. Projects connected to the year’s annual conference theme are especially encouraged. This year’s theme is Love, Fun, Joy...Literacy! Click here to access the guidelines.
